Each module includes:

40 multiple-choice questions;
One point(score) for each;
More than 26 scores (including 26 scores) for qualified;
60 minutes examination time (non-native examinee to lengthen 15 minutes).

Target:

For testers who have a minimum of 3 years testing experience, including software testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, Test Manager, testers in user acceptance, as well as software developers. It’s also suitable for people who want further understanding software testing, such as QA Manager, software development manager, project manager, business analyst, IT Director and management consultant. People who intend  to participate the AL should hold the ISTQB^® Foundation level certificate. The objectives for the Certified Tester Adcanced Level qualification are to: gain recognition for testing as an essential and professional software engineering specialization; provide a standard framwork for the development of testers' careers; enable professionally qualified testers to be recognized by employers, customers and peers, and to raise the profiles of testers and testing; promote consistent and good testing practices within all software engineering disciplines; identify testing topics that are relevant and of value to industry; enable software suppliers to hire certified testers and thereby gain commercial advantage over their competitors by advertising their tester recruitment policy; provide an opportynity for testers and those with an interest in testing to acquire an internationgally recognized qualification in the subject.

Examination form:

The exam is divided into three modules:Test Manager, Technical Test Analyst and Test Analyst.It requires the examinee to pass any two of them if they want the AL certificate.
 

Each module includes:

a) Test Manager v2012

      The exam includes 65 multiple-choice questions, with scores varying according to the difficulty of the questions.

      The exam time is 3 hours, and non-native language can extend the exam time by 25%, which is equivalent to extending the exam time by 45 minutes.

      The total score of the exam is 115 points, and a score of 65% or above (75 points or above) is required to pass the exam.

 

    Test Management v3.0

      The exam includes 50 multiple-choice questions, with scores varying according to the difficulty of the questions.

      The exam time is 2 hours, and non-native language can extend the exam time by 25%, which is equivalent to extending the exam time by 30 minutes.

      The total score of the exam is 88 points, and a score of 65% or above (58 points or above) is required to pass the exam.

 

b) Test Analyst

      The exam includes 40 multiple-choice questions, with scores varying according to the difficulty of the questions.

      The exam time is 2 hours, and non-native language can extend the exam time by 25%.

      The total score of the exam is 80 points, and a score of 65% or above (52 points or above) is required to pass the exam.

 

c) Technical Test Analyst

      The exam includes 45 multiple-choice questions, with scores varying according to the difficulty of the questions.

      The exam time is 2 hours, and non-native language can extend the exam time by 25%.

      The total score of the exam is 78 points, and a score of 65% or above (51 points or above) is required to pass the exam.
