Call for Participations in ISTQB CTFL Syllabus Add-On

As you know ISTQB ® wants to extend it's "back-bone" syllabi – the Foundation Level and Advanced Level by Add-Ons. The General Assembly accepted the concept in Capetown this October. ISTQB ® is ready to set up the teams for creating the piloting phase for ISTQB ® Foundation Level Add-Ons.

The goal
We will now in alignment with the ISTQB ® Program Development Steering Committee (PDSC) proceed in the following streams:
1. Setup the two teams that develop Agile Testing (AT) resp. finalize the module Model - Based Testing (MBT). A module consists of syllabus, sample exam, exam structure, timings, and accreditation guidelines.)
2. Preparing the Business Cases for the 2 modules.
3. Setting up the standards for the syllabi (incl. Business Outcome, Learning Objectives, content, glossary terms)

 


Now what it is the call for participation about?
We are looking for volunteers who is committed to
1. write the AT syllabus,
2. review the AT syllabus
3. review the MBT syllabus
4. write the exam questions
5. write the Add-On Exam Structure and Rules document
6. write and review exam questions for the AT syllabus
7. write and review exam questions for the AT syllabus
8. prepare the business cases

 


Constraints
• Agile Testing Foundation Add-on shall evaluate the creation of a syllabus from our own sources.
• The MBT syllabus from the SIG “MBT” is the selected syllabus. It shall be integrated into the ISTQB ® scheme as a Foundation Level Add-On. The syllabus chosen is the syllabus developed by the SIG "MBT" which is related to ISQI. The Execs (as ISTQB ® representatives) take care of the negotiations with iSQI and will provide the negotiations outcomes to the GA to decide on further actions.
• The ISTQB ® release management process shall be followed. Tailoring is to be proposed by the teams and agreed on where required.
• Budget for the syllabus development can only be given with the approval of the GA. E-mail voting is considered. Some money for a first meeting for planning is available on the ISTQB® FL WG.

 


Building Teams
1. The persons that commit to work on the AT development self-organize themselves. They determine the project manager, the authoring, the review sub-team, and the sample exam writing and review sub-teams. The follow the ISTQB® release management process.
2. The persons that commit to work on the MBT assembly team self-organize themselves. They determine the project manager, the authoring, the review sub-team, and the sample exam writing and review sub-teams. The follow the ISTQB ® release management process.
3. The business case development teams prepare the business cases for the 2 modules MBT and AT.
4. The Add-on Standard teams self-organize them-selves.
5. The ISTQB ® PDSC will monitor and guide the Add-on Program Management Team.
6. The CTFL Working Group will manage progressing of the teams and support motions to the GA.

 


What happened so far?
• Having reviewed the current version of the MBT syllabus developed by the SIG “MBT from a formal perspective and provided feedback which is considered in a current version.
• Having already created some drafts and collected the existing standards.
• A version of the AT syllabus has already drafted and could be considered by the AT development team.
